Australia Day Celebrations at the Sydney Harbour
A day historically celebrated to recognise the emancipation of Australian convicts, the meaning behind Australia Day has now evolved to acknowledge and respect the traditional owners of the land, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. The day has become meaningful to a majority of Australians, with over 3 in 4 people stating it is more than just a day off. With over half of all Australians participating in state or council-run fireworks Australia Day celebrations, planning a safe route, and finding a prime spot with satisfying views can be a difficult feat.
